#PhoneDownEyesUp – Honda’s New Distracted Driving Campaign

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and it comes just in time with the launch of Honda’s new distracted driving campaign #PhoneDownEyesUp. The Honda community service campaign consists of six 20-second videos that illustrate an important concept: if you can’t complete a simple task while texting, you can’t text and drive. While it might seem funny to see people try to text while making pancakes, vacuuming, or working out, the conclusion is serious. No one should be texting while driving a vehicle.

Safer Solutions in All Vehicles

Honda is committed to keeping everyone on the road safe. All of their vehicle innovations have focused on making the road safer for drivers and pedestrians alike. The company is currently working toward a “zero-collision society.” The mitigation of distracted driving is part of what spurred the development and integration of Honda Sensing™ technology and other hands-free solutions. In addition to spreading the word about the dangers of texting and driving, Honda is developing downloadable lock screens to remind drivers to put down their phones while they’re in the car.

Make Your Commitment Now

Miller Honda has a wide selection of reliable new vehicles that have consistently received high safety ratings from entities such as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Highly rated vehicles such as our Accord, Civic, CR-V, Pilot, and Odyssey are no substitute for an alert driver. Make your commitment now to keep your #PhoneDownEyesUp while driving.

New Accord Hybrid Promises to Be Best in Class

Miller Honda is proud to report that Honda has done it again by revamping its 2017 Honda Accord with hybrid technology. This new Accord is poised to raise the bar for family sedans with its standard driver-assistive and safety technology through Honda Sensing™, a more powerful hybrid powertrain, and the highest fuel economy for any mid-size hybrid sedan.

Notable Changes

The new changes have focused on Honda Accord fuel efficiency by incorporating a hybrid powertrain with a 2.0-liter i-VTEC Atkinson Cycle engine. It achieves 212 horsepower and a fuel economy rating of 49 city, 47 highway, and 48 combined MPG.*

In addition to increasing the fuel economy, the hybrid design includes an aluminum hood, aluminum wheels, blue highlighted LED head and tail lights, and a compact hybrid battery pack that increases trunk capacity over other mid-size hybrids. Of course, all new Honda vehicles also feature Honda Sensing™ safety technology and rearview camera standard.
