Check Out the Results of the Honda Ridgeline Rock Drop Test

Fans and regular drivers of pickup trucks want their vehicles to have the strength to endure traveling off road and hauling heavy loads. Trucks are meant to be tough, and Chevy recently tried to prove how tough their lineup is compared to Honda and Ford. The test involved dropping 800 pounds of rock onto the truck beds and seeing how the Silverado, Ridgeline, and F-150 held up. The results indicated that Chevy’s Silverado steel bed held up better than the aluminum of the F-150 and Ridgeline.

Honda Ridgeline vs. Silverado and F-150

Honda rose to the occasion to perform its own test of Honda Ridgeline truck bed durability after upgrading to a composite bed. A loader dropped 800 pounds of landscaping rock onto the bed of the F-150, Silverado, and Ridgeline. Of the three trucks, the Ridgeline held up strongest with the least amount of damage. To assist in the validity of the test, Honda even invited journalists to witness it and see the results up close for themselves.

While you might not personally have occasion to drop 800 pounds of cargo into the bed of your truck, it’s comforting to know that the Ridgeline’s bed can handle it. Test drive one for yourself at Miller Honda today.
