2021 Honda Pilot Seating Capacity and Features
When it comes to SUVs, seating capacity is a make-or-break factor in many potential buyers’ purchasing decisions. If they need a lot of seating capacity to suit their purposes, then it makes sense that they’ll look for a vehicle that can accommodate their needs. However, not all vehicles with high seating capacity are created equal.
While the three-row 2021 Honda Pilot can seat up to eight people (when so equipped), does it do so comfortably? What features does it have to make passengers comfortable? For instance, does the 2021 Honda Pilot have captain’s chairs as an available option?
The 2021 Honda Pilot does have available 2nd-row captain’s chairs on upper trims either as an option or as a standard feature. The 2021 Pilot comes in seven trims: LX, EX, EX-L, Special Edition (SE), Touring, Elite, and Black Edition (BE). The LX, EX, EX-L, and SE trims are only available with 2nd-row bench seats, which caps the seating capacity at eight. The Touring comes standard with the 2nd-row bench seat, but the captain’s chairs are available; seating capacity is eight with the bench seat and seven with the captain’s chairs. The top-tier Elite and BE trims come standard with 2nd-row captain’s chairs.
Depending on which 2021 Honda Pilot trim you choose, your new Pilot model will be outfitted with different seating amenities. The base LX trim has cloth upholstery. The EX trim also has cloth upholstery, but adds heated front seats. The EX-L and SE have leather upholstery and heated front seats. The Touring also features leather seating with heated front seats, but adds second-row heated seats too, regardless of whether it has a bench seat or captain’s chairs. The Elite and BE have all of the features of the trim before them, as well as adding in ventilated front seats and perforated 2nd-row seats.
