2021 Honda Ridgeline Powertrain Specs
The 2021 Honda Ridgeline has been designed for the new model year. That much is obvious just looking at it. It’s got a crisp, rugged exterior that we love. But looks are just one aspect. How capable and rugged is the new 2021 Honda Ridgeline, actually? One way to measure that is to examine the powertrain. Today, we’re doing just that.
What type of drivetrain does the 2021 Honda Ridgeline have? 2WD? 4WD? Both? Take a look below to find out.
One big draw for the newly redesigned 2021 Honda Ridgeline is the standard i-VTM4® torque-vectoring AWD and Intelligent Traction Management System. However, that drivetrain wouldn’t mean much without a powerful engine to propel it. The 2021 Honda Ridgeline definitely has that. Under the hood, there’s a 3.5L V6 producing 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs and is EPA-estimated at 18/24/21* mpg.

Every 2021 Honda Ridgeline features the Honda Sensing® technologies suite. That means every 2021 Ridgeline has a Collision Mitigation Braking System™, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. A multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines is also standard. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert is available on the RTL trim and above. Auto high-beam headlights are available on the RTL-E trim and above.
