2020 Honda Pilot Cargo Space and Seating Capacity
In the modern automotive market, the SUV and crossover are top dog. As a result, automakers have been pumping them out, with multiple models from the same manufacturers coexisting. Wading through all those options can be daunting. That’s why we want to help.
The 2020 Honda Pilot is a midsize, three-row SUV that we think might just be what you’re looking for. If you’re looking to buy an SUV, you’re looking for utility. So then…
How big is the 2020 Honda Pilot cargo area?
2020 Honda Pilot Cargo Bay Dimensions
The 2020 Honda Pilot has different cargo volumes for different trims. The 2020 Honda Pilot LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims have one set of measurements while the Elite and Black Edition trims have another. We will list both here:
LX, EX, EX-L, Touring
Elite, Black Edition
|Cargo volume behind 3rd row||16.5 cu-ft*||16.0 cu-ft*|
|Cargo volume behind 2nd row||46.8 cu-ft*||46.0 cu-ft*|
|Cargo volume behind 1st row||83.9 cu-ft*||82.1 cu-ft*|
*Based on SAE J1100 cargo volume measurement standard.
These numbers are pretty substantial on their own, but they’re augmented further by the small-item storage areas littered throughout the cabin. For example, the doors have large, deep pockets and the center console has configurable storage space, among other clever areas dotted around the cabin.
2020 Honda Pilot Seating Capacity
Like the cargo bay, seating varies based on which trim you pick. The LX, EX, and EX-L all feature eight-person seating, supported by two rear bench seats capable of seating three apiece. The Touring gets eight-person seating standard, but seven-person seating with second-row captain’s chairs are available. The Elite and Black Edition come standard with the second-row captains chairs, putting their capacity at seven.
