New Features for the 2021 Honda Pilot
The 2020 Honda Pilot had a lot of standard safety features and integrated tech that made it an excellent value. For the new 2021 model, Honda added even more stuff to sweeten the deal.
Here’s what’s new on the 2021 Honda Pilot.
New Trim Added to Lineup
The 2021 Honda Pilot receives a new trim, the Special Edition (SE). It slots in-between the EX-L and Touring trims. The SE has numerous premium features like a wireless smartphone charger and a hands-free power liftgate. It also features black 20-inch wheels, roof rails, and grille and skid garnishes.
Each 2021 Honda Pilot is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. New for the 2021 model year, every 2021 Honda Pilot now has the nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters that was only found on the 2020 Honda Pilot Touring, Elite, and Black Edition models. Similarly, the Idle Stop feature is also standard for the 2021 Pilot. The LX, EX, EX-L, SE, and Touring trims all come standard with FWD and have available AWD. The Elite and Black Edition trims are only AWD, the same as the 2020 model year.
Changes to Existing Trims
Every 2021 Honda Pilot now comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control. For the 2020 model year, dual-zone auto climate control became standard at the EX trim level. The Black Edition trim now has a Platinum White Pearl exterior color option, as well as the original Crystal Black Pearl. All other Black Edition styling remains the same.
